Emmett MacMillen (they/he) is a trans nonbinary interdisciplinary artist, interested in the intersections between performance, writing, and new media and received their degree in Interdisciplinary Performance at the University of British Columbia’s Okanagan campus in 2016. Emmett has been involved with a number of performance projects, including ‘SQUARE|CIRCLE’, their first collaboration with Eviah S. Obadia-Wong, ‘Curiosity! the intimate spectacle of the conformed human female’, developed with fellow interdisciplinary artist Ashishvangh Contractor, and solo performance ‘SKINNED’.

He is also a co-author of two publications: ‘Note to Self’, a collection of audio walks written for the Mission neighbourhood in Kelowna, published in April 2015, and ‘Arrive Early, Expect Delays’, a chapbook detailing their experience of a cross-Canada train trip in July 2017, published in October 2017. Just recently, Emmett published a zine with broke press (Vernon), which is available for sale at www.brokepress.ca
Emmett currently works with Inspired Word Café and reads and hosts regularly at their open mic events.
